It is highly likely that adult members of your school community (staff, governors, parents/carers) will have been affected by Domestic Abuse in some way.
Ways in which you could provide help and support could include:
- Making support information and the positive relationship messages clear and available to all throughout the school
- Consider having a Domestic Abuse Workplace Policy for your school staff (75% of DA victims are targeted at work
£2.7 billion a year (England and Wales) is lost through economic output due to decreased productivity, administrative difficulties from unplanned time off, lost wages and sick pay.)
- Display support information for parents / carers / staff in specific areas in school e.g. stickers on the back of toilet doors
- Provide information during events such as parents’ evenings e.g. information regarding what Domestic Abuse is and where to access support
